NYCC

(This post originally appeared in full on my LinkedIn 10/13/2025)

I went to New York Comic Con Sunday.

It was overwhelming and fun, the crowds were nuts, and I saw some amazing cosplay.

I only bought one thing: a gashapon from the Godzilla booth.

When we got to the vendor and I saw they had a machine with figures from Battle for Earth I got excited, but it was kind of pricey for a vinyl toy in a plastic bubble.

I wandered the whole floor after I saw it, but it was really the only thing I wanted. Before I went to artist alley I decided to go back.

When I got there the machine only had three toys left: two mothras and one minilla. My odds were good.

Sure enough, the yellow bubble came out. It was a little anticlimactic, but worth it to secure my Mothra.

(let’s be real, I would probably have gone for a second round if I got Minilla.)

Gashapon in hand, I finally took a break from the crowd to examine my prize. She is beautiful, as you would expect.

It was great, people were cheerful and happy to be there, the food was good and I got to spend quality time with my brother. 10/10.
